Home Repair Tools for
DIY Landlords

To make life easier when working on rental property, good home repair tools are an absolute must for DIY landlords. Having the right tools when doing any job really is "winning half the battle". In many instances, they'll turn a job into a pleasure instead of being just a frustrating chore.

Without the proper tools, you'll be severely handicapped and, in all likelihood, won't be able to finish the job successfully. In this situation, the only outcome will be aggravation and a frequent use of profanity!

As a DIY landlord, you'll be faced with all kinds of repair and maintenance projects around your rental property. Let's take a look at some of the tools you should have (at a minimum) on hand in order to take on some common rental property repair jobs.

1.) Plumbing Tools / Materials - Soldering torch, flux and solder, tubing cutter, plumber's wrench, drain auger, and plumber's putty.

2.) Carpentry Tools - Level, square, ruler, nail-puller, wood chisels, and tape measure.

3.) Hand Tools - Hammer, hand saw, screw drivers, adjustable wrench, crow bar, putty knife, and pliers.

4.) Power Tools - Circular saw, electric drill and drill bits, and electric sander.

So those are some of the basic tools that, at the bare minimum, every DIY landlord should have. Without them, you'll surely be in for an uphill battle while taking on a repair job.
